I have noticed in searches on my site that many have been searching for ‘Reiki and Death’. I will give you my views on this sensitive subject.
Death is inevitable for us all, it is the one thing we can all be sure about. Some of us will die suddenly, whilst for the majority of us death is normally the result of a long illness.
If dying suddenly, Reiki will not be of benefit to the deceased. However Reiki can be used to help those left behind, friends and family. Reiki will help them through the grieving process and bring them an inner calm and peace, so making the journey through bereavement more tolerable.
For those people who are suffering from a terminal illness, which will result in death, Reiki can be a great help. When we are suffering we usually feel at our lowest ebb. Everything is more difficult and the world seems at its blackest. Many terminally ill people are afraid of death, (I suppose even well people are afraid of death, because it is an unknown quantity) but when you are feeling at your lowest then it really is frightening.
Reiki will help the sufferer, by giving them a sense of calm and inner peace, a sense of well-being and will help to prepare them for their journey into the afterlife. I have worked with terminally ill people who know that they haven’t long to live and one of the statements that they have made repeatedly is that Reiki helps them to feel relaxed, warm and at peace and gives them a complete sense of well-being, preparing them for the inevitable.
I would recommend anyone approaching death or having recently been bereaved to have some Reiki or Spiritual Healing.
