Spiritual Healers should be trained and qualified by a recognised healing group that is affiliated/member of a recognised healing organisation, such as the Confederation of Healing Organisations or UK Healers or affiliated to the Alliance of Healing Associations.

The standard training for a someone to become a qualified practising healer is two years. There is an in depth training guide to follow and a code of conduct to become familiar with, as well as the practical healing side.

The trainee healer will spend time recognising and understanding the healing energies as well as learning to connect with these energies when using healing. The trainee is after all only a channel for the energies to flow through into the recipient.

The trainee must be seen to be competent in all areas before full healing status will be granted. Once qualified the healer will be competent to heal on their own, making sure to follow the code of conduct. The healer will carry a card identifying them as a healer, with their photo and the healing organisation with which they trained, this card is also proof of insurance cover as most healing organisations will have a block insurance to cover their members.

If you are unsure of your healers competence, then you should ask to see their card, if they haven’t shown it to you already. If you have any concerns there is a complaints procedure to follow.

Unfortunately long gone are the days where if someone had the healing gift it was accepted. These days if you are not qualified or insured then all sorts of complications seem to arise.

So if you have ever been uncertain about going to a Spiritual Healer, don’t be. The healer has been through a rigorous two years training. All healing is given in unconditional love and will always benefit in some way, it will never harm.
